Native NetSuite workflows capture approval decisions, but the audit trail is buried in system notes—difficult to report on and nearly impossible to analyze. Finance and compliance teams need structured approval data: who approved what, when, in what role, and with what context.
We built a dedicated approval tracking framework that captures every approval and rejection as a discrete record. Each decision includes the approver, their role, timestamp, and any comments—all reportable and auditable without digging through system notes.
The solution intercepts approval events and writes them to a custom approval history record linked to the source transaction. This creates a searchable, reportable approval trail that supports compliance requirements and management oversight.
