Sales opportunities move through stages, but native NetSuite doesn't enforce stage requirements. Opportunities can jump to closed-won without required fields populated or activities completed, leading to incomplete data and process compliance gaps.
We implemented stage validation rules that enforce requirements at each opportunity stage transition. Moving forward requires completing defined criteria, ensuring data completeness and process compliance.
When users attempt to advance opportunity stage, validation checks whether requirements are met—required fields populated, activities logged, approvals obtained. Transitions are blocked with clear messages when criteria aren't satisfied.
